For something this consequential, engaging Sea Engineering again would be prudent. So there could be additional fees.
One question I have is this; after this $336k sea wall reinforcement, what other possible wall expenses could be incurred in the next, say, 10 years?
You need to ask Sea Engineering and/or Gundaker to help you forecast what else to plan for.
Of course, they’ll avoid giving insight for risk of being held accountable if something goes wrong.
But they could have more insight than anyone else given they do this daily for a living.
One way to get at this is to ask them what else they think the wall should have that it currently lacks.
There are obviously other uncertainties, too. There are also unforeseen emergency expenses with aging infrastructure.
You could have an underground electrical cable fail and require replacement.
There could be extensive potable water supply line ruptures.
